All Purpose Sound Level Monitoring from Rion
The NL-43, NL-53 and NL-63 Sound Level Meters are designed with a full colour LCD screen with touch panel for ease of use. They are water resistant, can use rechargeable batteries and are capable of recording sound data for up to 1000 hours.
All three units are capable of measuring A, C and Z frequency weighted measurements with either F (Fast), S (Slow) or I(Impulse) time weightings. The NL-63 is also capable of measuring G frequency weighted measurements. Each meter is capable of measuring four different settings simultaneously, and saving both instantaneous and calculated values. Along with the following values and statistics:
- Instantaneous SPL: Lp
- Equivalent continuous SPL: Leq
- I-time-weighted equivalent continuous spl: Lieq
- Moving: Leq:Leq, mov
- Sound Exposure Level: Le
- Maximum SPL: Lmax
- Minimum SPL: Lmin
- Percentile sound levels: Ln (0.1% to 99.9% in 0.1 increment steps. Max 5 values)
- Peak sound level: Lpeak
- Takt-max sound level: Ltm5
The Rion NL-43, NL-53 and NL-63 are water resistant to a rating of IP54.

Optional Software/Functions
NX-43EX
(Pre-installed on NL-63)
The -EX option enables continuous long-term measurement in Lp and Leq mode over user selectable statistical intervals. The -EX option also enables communication via the unit's RS-232C serial interface as well as the comparator function, which allows the user to set a predetermined sound pressure level at which a voltage is output via the serial interface jack.
When you purchase an NL-43, NL-53 or NL-63 with the -EX option pre-installed, a 512MB SD card is included to allow for long-term logging sessions.
The -EX option is required to be installed before any of the other following options (-WR, -FT, -RT)
NX-43WR
The -WR option enables high resolution audio recording of up to 24bit audio at 12Khz, 24Khz or 48kHz, the NL-63 is also capable of sampling at 240Hz or 1200Hz. The audio recorded can be played back via a computer or can be used with Rion's audio waveform post processing software AS-70 for further analysis. NX-43WR is supplied on a 2GB SD card which can be used for storage once the program is installed.
